Last Night, I was fortunate enough to be able to attend the last day of Washington DC Fashion Week. Watching the International Couture Collections at Carnegie Library. I got the privilege to see 6 Beautiful Haute Couture collections from International designers, who were lucky enough to be able to present a collection in Washington DC. I’m really bad at names, so I sadly forget all the designers’ names, but what I do remember is their collections.
The first collection featured the models, from Washington DC’s Cycle 20, does the name ring a bell? In simple, bold, and beautiful ensembles in none other than black. One of my favorite collections, was presented by a Pakistani designer, who took inspiration from none other than her Pakistani roots, as Going Global seems to be as big as the Go-Go boots were, back in the 1960s. Another collection that really stood out to me was by a Peruvian designer, who used the country’s famous knits to the test, dressing up the knits in a way that’s more than just casual. Out of all the show, my favorite was a male model decked out in underwear & Angel Wings. #sexy
The event overall, was very exciting and memorable. Especially since an Ambassador, (again forget what country he was from), and the Mayor of Washington DC both made an appearance. I definately have to thank my mother for making my dream of attending a Runway show come true. New York Fashion Week, here I come!!!!!!!!
